The intention of the UICC is to build this campaign beyond the 4th of February. "It is designed to resonate, inspire and mobilize the action." For this reason, the period of the campaign is three years. "This allows us to create a lasting impact in time, extend the exposure and commit to the message and have more opportunities to generate global awareness," says the UICC in its campaign statement.
The UICC is the
international benchmark for the World Day Against Cancer. The global campaign, according to the
impact report made by the same organization, mobilizes millions of citizens and entities from
more than 145 countries around the world, promotes the organization of a thousand global initiatives and makes it almost fifty governments take note of the demands and demands of the call.
Apart from the campaign, this international organization tries to unify the entire community of the planet to reduce the global impact of cancer and to ensure that institutions incorporate the prevention and control of this disease within the international agendas of health and development.
In its institutional statement, this body claims that access to cancer diagnosis,
treatment and care should be the same for everyone, regardless of the origins, income, ethnicity or gender of the people. He also considers that governments in each country should lead prevention and disease control policies with investments that directly affect citizens.
World Cancer Day was born on 4 February 2000 at the Paris World Cancer Summit.
The Paris Charter aims to promote research, prevent cancer, improve patient services and raise awareness and mobilize the world community to advance in the fight against cancer.
