The organisation protecting human rights claims that Trump’s decisions, which judge people according to their religion, promote a rhetoric of hate.

Amnesty International condemned Donald Trump’s political decision to block the arrival of refugees at the United States (US). On Saturday the 28th of January, Trump signed an executive order which banned refugees and immigrants from several Muslim-majority countries from entering the US during the next 120 and 90 days, respectively from the approval. The 7 countries affected by the blockage of the President of the US are; Syria, Libya, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Yemen. Against this decision, the organisation which protects human rights reported that judging people according to their religion can just promote a rhetoric of hate.

"The Executive Order of President Trump, which blocks people who flee from war and persecution in countries like Syria, is an awful decision with potentially catastrophic consequences", claimed Salil Shetty, the Executive Officer of Amnisty International in a news release. Along these lines, Shetty added that refugees are victims of the same terror that Trump intends to fight. "The Government must remember that the US is also a country built by foreigners and refugees", reminded Shetty.

The controversial decision of Trump arose protests in several areas of the North American country, as well as in many European capitals. In Barcelona, the organisation “Unitat Contra El Feixisme” (Union Against Fascism) arranged a demonstration on Saturday 4th February in front of the General Consulate of the United States to protest against the banning for Muslim citizens to travel to the US.

Shetty highlighted that "Trump’s insensitive and deeply wrong decision could also establish an awful precedent in a time when other countries are searching different solutions to stop the flow of refugees". The international organisation also condemned Trump’s order to build a wall in the border of Mexico. The Secretary General of Amnesty International in the US claimed that "we will fight against this wall with everything we have". "We will never allow Trump to build refugee camps around the border of Mexico as the ones we have seen in Greece, Australia and other countries", she added.
