From February 2 to 6, Barcelona will become a meeting point for young activists from Catalonia, Colombia, Palestine, and Western Sahara during the fourth edition of the International Youth Act! Forum.

The event will bring together around fifty participants to share experiences, reflect collectively, and seek responses to the impacts of the climate crisis on human rights and local communities.

Over five days, the forum will offer training sessions, discussions, and collaborative workshops focused particularly on the consequences of extractive industries and the exploitation of natural resources. Some activities, scheduled for February 3, 4, and 6, will be open to young people, social organizations, and other groups interested in connecting with the international participants.

The forum aims to strengthen alliances between youth movements from different parts of the world, promote collective learning, and develop shared strategies to address today’s environmental challenges. It also seeks to highlight local struggles and the difficulties faced by young defenders of land and human rights.

Youth Act! is an initiative led by several Catalan organizations, including the International Civil Service of Catalonia and the Barcelona Youth Council, with the support of social and academic institutions. Since its launch in 2021, the project has worked to encourage youth participation and connect local movements with global causes related to social and environmental justice.

Key goals of the forum include building international networks, exchanging good practices, developing common action tools, and designing joint communication and advocacy campaigns.
