The Aarhus volunteer Festival, a way to celebrate volunteering

On September 21st-23rd, the danish city will host debates, workshops, talks, performances and others activities.

Next september, on the occasion of the European Volunteering Capital Aarhus 2018, the danish city hosts the Volunteer Festival to celebrate, debate and share the many volunteering communities and initiatives that make a world of difference.

Organisations, researchers, businesses, politicians, international guests and citizens are invited to join the Aarhus Volunteer Festival. Throughout the weekend, the attendants could enjoy of a wide range of activities such as performances, talks, workshops and debates to strenghten the public debate and democratic discussion and create a space for dialogue where share knowledge on recruiting and maintaining motivation in volunteering, and find ways to face the challenges in collaboration across sectors.

The organization has the ambition to include around 20,000 participants during the weekend in various locations in the city of Aarhus.

Legacy, Diversity, Social Inclusion and Cooperation

Events will circle around the four main values of Aarhus as the European Volunteering Capital: Legacy, Diversity, Social Inclusion and Cooperation. 

On the occasion of the European Volunteering Capital, since January, a lot of artistic and cultural events are taking place throughout the city. Around 4,000 volunteers (also called “ReThinkers”) are making it possible.
