The conference will be held in Barcelona and will focus on sustainability and the engagement of organizations and the administration to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

From 26 to 28 May, the Fira de Barcelona conference venue will host the BforPlanet, a new congress to engage business, institutions and organizations to achieve the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

BforPlanet will have and exhibitors’ hall, with around 100 stands to showcase projects relating to the SDGs, and a congress with conferences given by internationally distinguished panellists from the business sector, politicians and scientific researchers.

There will also be working sessions and spaces to foster business and collaboration among organizations, administrations and civil society representatives, so they can work closely to come up with innovative proposals and solutions to the challenges of meeting the SDGs.

The main challenge for which solutions are sought is SDG 17 “Global partnerships for sustainable development”. Along these lines, the congress will promote public-private partnerships on global issues to revitalise sustainable development during this new decade.

Although important companies and institutions with a strong social and environmental commitment are yet to be confirmed, the congress has the support of the United Nations (UN) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the World Bank.

BforPlanet will run in parallel to Innovate4Climate, a meeting that will focus on how to finance actions to tackle the climate emergency to speed up actions and their development. This meeting will also be held in Barcelona and is organised by the World Bank.
