Let's clean Europe, a common action against the waste production

Every year, millions of tonnes of litter end up in oceans, beaches, forests and elsewhere in nature. The primary causes of this littering issue are our society’s unsustainable production and consumption patterns, poor waste management strategies and a lack of awareness of citizens.

Let’s Clean Up Europe (LCUE) campaign is active throughout all European countries to implement clean-up actions to fight against the littering problem. At the same time, the campaign aims to raise awareness about the amount of waste produced, the importance of waste prevention and waste reduction.

In 2021, the campaign will take place from 7th to 9th May. During these days, there will be some waste collection actions throughout Europe, promoted by organizations.

In Catalonia, the Agència de Residus de Catalunya (ARC), part of the Steering Committee, is strongly committed to fighting the waste production, by supporting the EWWR as regional coordinator and coordinating several clean-up actions within the LCUE campaign.
