The seminar “Volunteering for peace” will gather volunteering programme officers from 15 non-profit organizations from around Europe in Vilanova i la Geltrú from 1 to 7 April.

The Fundació Catalunya Voluntària (FCV) is organizing, from 1st to 7th April, the international seminar “Volunteering for Peace” to evaluate the potential of volunteering as a driver and creator of peace and to create a space for reflexion, to learn and share experiences.

The meeting will take place in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Spain) and will be attended by 19 volunteering programme officers from 15 non-profit organizations coming from Portugal, Italy, Macedonia, Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Estonia, Latvia and Catalonia.

Participants will learn of tools and examples of best practices that are useful to fight against discrimination and hate, as well as to prevent violence.

Activities to support non-profit organizations and volunteers

The seminar is organized with the support of the European Commission’s Erasmus+Youth programme and will also allow organizations to discover new tools and ideas focusing on improving support that is offered to volunteers, and also to prepare activities aiming to help volunteers to develop useful skills, both to live in peace and to build peace around them.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn, through theory and practice, basic skills to implement campaigns, carry out public advocacy actions and communicate in a non-violent way, as well as to exchange experiences and find ideas for new international volunteering or training projects.

For further information, you may wish to read the Seminar’s leaflet.
