"We demand an answer and accountability for this unacceptable attack and call on the international community to double its efforts to protect civilians"
Today, Palestine is our cause as humanity. We just returned from mission 110 of Open Arms, our second mission in Gaza to open a maritime humanitarian corridor to help with our vessel and teams to fight against hunger being used as a weapon of war against the Palestinian population.
More than 35,000 people have died in what the large powers still doubt in calling by its name: genocide. A dystopian labyrinth where the blood of people is running while war technologies continue to be tested and perfected guided by growingly automated algorithms that dilute all human responsibility, using technology and trivializing evil.
We have returned from Gaza, where murderers dressed in uniform are allowed to shoot at children; hospitals and schools are destroyed, and humanitarian corridors are sabotaged; where even the terrible warfare laws are breached and doctors, teachers and humanitarian personnel are executed; where journalists and the press are persecuted, and where the witnesses of these annihilation mechanisms are expelled. We have returned, but not our colleagues from WCK: Zomi, Issam, Damian, Jacob, Jim, John, and James.
They remain there. Now states hurry to express their condolences to their families, but they aren’t that hasty in stopping to send arms to this laboratory of destruction. Yesterday, many media outlets expressed outrage at these killings, but today there was another bombing witnessed by the whole world.
How much longer will we allow these killings and war crimes in Gaza to continue? What else must happen for the international society to react? How much more humanity must we lose to this genocide?”
This tragic event shows the desolate reality of a strategy that seems to focus more on death and destruction, ignoring the most basic human rights. We demand an answer and accountability for this unacceptable attack and call on the international community to double its efforts to protect civilians and those who put their lives at risk to deliver aid to people in a situation of vulnerability.
