After securing 99% of the votes in Porto, Barcelona has been chosen to host the next Annual General Assembly of the European Pride Organisers Association . “It is undeniable that the impact that an event of such calibre can have on the city is an unquestionable legacy for the LGTBIQ+ community in Barcelona ,” admits the project manager of the LGTBIQ+ Chamber , Andoni Ibáñez .
In this sense, he also emphasizes that "the county town would become the medium, the platform , the speaker through which other pro-rights organizations and individuals from all over Europe can raise their voices, make themselves visible, claim and celebrate their identity " .
For fifteen years , the LGTBIQ+ Chamber has organized, on behalf of more than thirty LGTBIQ+ associations in Barcelona and the territory, the Pride! BCN . "Breaking stereotypes, destigmatizing our existence, making our reality visible, putting an end to LGTBIQ-phobia , showing positive models and paving the way for new generations are some of the real goals for which LGTBIQ+ activism in Barcelona has always worked , from the first Spanish demonstration in 1977 in Barcelona until today", says Andoni.
Four days of international relations
So, the members of the Pride organizers from all over Europe will meet in the Catalan capital to interact and make decisions about the future of the organization. "There will be plenary events, workshops and presentations of candidacies to host the next EuroPride and the next city that will host the AGM", explains the representative of the LGTBIQ+ Chamber.

Important step to host WorldPride 2030
With this winning bid, the city takes a step forward on its way to host WorldPride 2030 , the largest global event of visibility and celebration of LGBTIQ+ rights in the world.
"We will present the candidacy at InterPride's next Annual General Meeting to be held in 2026 in a city yet to be determined. It's two years of work which will bring a series of undeniable benefits to the city and to the associative fabric", they explain from the Catalan entity.
