The seventh edition of the training program “Learn to Explain Europe” is now open for applications, offering young journalists the chance to deepen their understanding of EU institutions.
The initiative continues to grow as a leading opportunity for those interested in clear and rigorous European reporting.
The program, promoted by RTVE Institute, EFE Agency, and the European Parliament Office in Spain, aims to equip participants with the skills needed to explain how key EU bodies—such as the European Parliament, the European Council, and the European Commission—function, using accessible language across different media formats.
A teaching team made up of Brussels correspondents, academic experts, and professionals from European institutions will provide both theoretical knowledge and practical insight into covering EU affairs.
A total of 25 participants will be selected based on academic background and professional experience, ensuring transparency, gender balance, territorial diversity, and representation from various media sectors including press, radio, television, and news agencies.
The course is divided into two modules. The first will take place from May 12 to 14 in Madrid at RTVE Institute and EFE facilities. It is free of charge, with travel and accommodation covered. The top-performing participants will advance to a second module in Brussels, where they will engage with journalists from across Europe.
Applications can be submitted through the official online form of the program. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2026.
