Given the unsustainable situation that the population of Gaza is experiencing , from Cáritas Diocesana de Lleida we want to express our deep pain, indignation and commitment. We cannot remain silent while thousands of innocent people suffer the consequences of a conflict that violates the most fundamental human rights.
As an organization working for social justice and the dignity of all people, we join the voices calling for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian access, and absolute respect for civilian life. The destruction, suffering, and hopelessness that are spreading in Gaza are an open wound to the global conscience.
We know that our action may seem small compared to the magnitude of the pain, but we firmly believe in the value of our grain of sand.
Therefore, we commit to raising awareness in our community about the reality experienced by the Palestinian people. We support international cooperation and humanitarian aid initiatives that work on the ground. We call on public institutions and governments to prioritize peace, dialogue and the protection of life.
Peace is not just the absence of war, but the active presence of justice , empathy and solidarity . From Lleida, from our diocese, we want to be part of this hope.
