Cherish Foundation wins #IndiaForGood Contest

The India-based non-profit organisation, which runs an orphanage in Hyderabad, is awarded by receiving 4.200 euros.

Cherish Foundation is the grand prize winner of #IndiaForGood Contest, an acknowledgement organised by OnGood. Last summer, the platform which manages the.ngo domain name for non-profit organisations, asked India-based NGO using this domain to use their OnGood profile pages to highlight their missions and showcase the good they do on a daily basis. Therefore Cherish Foundation has been awarded 4.200€ (300.000 INR) in recognition for its creative OnGood profile page.

#IndiaForGood Contest open call was launched thinking on those non-profit organisations carrying out projects in India. Cherish Foundation is head quartered in Leesburg, Virginia (United States) and they run an orphanage in Hyderabad. "Our mission is providing a stable and loving family atmosphere and an education to children who have lost their parents", they said on their profile. As a result, they focus on integrating children into society and helping them to be responsible citizens of India. At the moment, they work with over 38 children.

At cherish home each and every child is looked at as an individual and will find different learning opportunities through different paths: Physical, Relational, Emotional, Intellectual, creative and spiritual areas. It is important to underline they take into account their area of interests, so that children have opportunities to be engineers, doctors, servants, lawyers, politicians, musicians, etc., in the future.
