At the University of Girona (UdG) , the Social Commitment and Professional Guidance Unit (UCSOP) manages several aid and support programs for refugees.

To begin with, there is the Emergency Aid, intended to " minimize the negative consequences of those students in a situation of serious financial difficulties who have not been able to access other aid for justified reasons", they explain. Part of this aid is intended for students with refugee status , and can cover tuition fees, travel and, in exceptional cases, rent and subsistence allowances.

In this sense, the UdG is currently drawing up a protocol for the recognition of previous studies and working with other Catalan and Spanish universities to solve possible difficulties.

At the same time, when students in a situation of refuge have arrived, the UdG has activated other support actions such as teaching Catalan, mentoring university students to support the adaptation of these people, and monitoring and accompanying the and the students in a situation of refuge.

The UdG also has specific programs such as the ' Resumption of studies program for refugees located in Lebanon ', coordinated by the Generalitat's Committee for the Reception of Refugees: "Thanks to this program, a student has been able access to the UdG and is about to finish his degree". They also have a specific program for students and faculty from Ukraine, funding that has so far allowed them to cover the tuition fees of several people, including a female teacher.
